Portly Cooks | Nashville Style Hot Chicken

Nashville hot chicken is a new one to me but oh my god its good!

Serves 2

  • 2 Chicken Thighs
  • 2 Chicken Drumsticks
  • 100g Flour plus extra for dusting
  • Milk – enough to make a loose pancake like batter
  • Hot Sauce
  • Oil for frying plus a little more for the seasoning
  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper Powder
  • 1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 tsp Paprika Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

Dust the chicken in the flour then whisk together the flour, milk and hot sauce until you get a loose pancake batter consistency. Heat oil in a wok and then dunk the dusted chicken in the batter and fry until crispy and golden. Mix together 2 tbsp oil with the spices and a little more hot sauce, once the chicken is done brush it with the spicy dressing.
