Portly Cooks | Pork in Black Bean Sauce

Well here is a nice easy one for an impressive midweek meal.

Serves 2

  • 2 Pork Loin Steaks
  • 1 tbsp Lee Kum Kee Black Bean Sauce
  • 2 tsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Shaoxing Rice Wine
  • 1 tsp Caster Sugar
  • 90g Jasmine Rice
  • 180ml Water

Wash the rice and then add to a pan with the water, bring to the boil and then turn down to a simmer for 8-10 minutes once done, cover and leave to one side. Cut the pork into chunks and fry in a wok or heavy bottomed pan until crispy. In a separate pan mix together the ingredients for the sauce and bring to a boil before leaving to one side. Once the pork is done add the sauce to the pan and make sure everything is well coated.  Plate the rice and surround with the pork.

Black bean sauce? It must be a secret ingredient. I think I’m on a quest to find some. 👀🍃

Looks good, though I am not a huge fan of black beans. But the pork looks wonderful!
