Something for the weekend with this one because it is a bit off a faff.
- 300g Pork Belly
- 2 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
- 2 tbsp Shaoxing Rice Wine
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tsp Smoked Garlic
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 2 Star Anise
- 1 Chicken Oxo
- Water
Cut the pork into cubes and boil in enough water to cover for around 10 minutes. Drain the water into a bowl and add the Oxo. In a large pan, fry the pork cubes with the garlic and ginger. Add the soy sauces and shaoxing and simmer for a minute.
Add the honey and enough of the reserved water to just cover the pork. Stir well and cover with the lid simmer for 2 hours before reducing the liquid before serving.
