Portly Cooks | Spiced Lamb Mince and Orzo

I got a new spice mix the other day and used this dish as an experiment and it worked really nicely. Don’t worry if you can’t find Lebansese 7 Spice, you can sub it out for Harissa Spices/paste and this will still work perfectly.

  • 100g Lamb Mince
  • 65g Orzo
  • Half a courgette (diced)
  • 1 Tomato (diced)
  • 1 Spring Onion (diced)
  • 1 Lamb stock cube
  • 1 clove Garlic
  • Half tsp Lebanese 7 Spice
  • Half tsp Dried Mint

Cook Orzo in boiling salted water for 11 minutes, drain and leave to one side. Brown the mince and disolve the stock cube in a little water. Add the stock and then the veg. Cook for about 3 minutes and add spices, cook for another 2 minutes. Add the Orzo and stir through. Plate up and dive in!
