Crumble is essentially one of the first things you make at school and carry lovingly home for your family to try. It’s easy to see why, it doesn’t really require much cooking and is definitely in the category of traditional comfort food. It’s even better if you’re making it at the right time of year and can go and collect the fruit for yourself!
- 3 Medium Sized Apples
- 120g Flour
- 60g Butter
- 1 + 1 tbsp sugar (one for the fruit one of the crumble mix)
Peel the apples and cut into slices, put them into baking dish and sprinkle over 1 tbsp of the sugar, cook at 180c for 5 minutes. While the apples cook rub the butter into the flour until you have a breadcrumb texture, add the other tablespoon of sugar and stir. Take out apples, cover in the crumble mix and bake at 180c for 20 mins or until golden. Grab a spoon and dive in.
