Portly Cooks | Fried Oyster Mushrooms

Now here is something a little different and I’ll be honest I saw this on TikTok (don’t hate me) of all places.  I had to try it so I made my own version of it and you know what? Its freaking epic!

  • 3 Large Oyster Mushrooms
  • 1 tsp All Purpose Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 2 tbsp Flour
  • Water to make batter
  • Oil for frying

Now normally I would say that you could shallow fry these but I think deep frying would work best for this.  That being said, cut each oyster mushroom into 3 and leave to one side.  mix the batter ingredients together (it’s up to you if you make it thick or thin) and heat your oil. Dunk each strip of mushroom into the batter and fry for about 4 minutes in the oil, it should go a lovely golden brown.
