People love the smell of fresh bread and we all have some time on our hands at the moment so why not give baking a little loaf a whirl. You can even get the kids involved.
- 250g Plain Flour/Strong Bread Flour
- ½ Tsp Fast Action Dried Yeast
- 145ml Warm Water
This isn’t going to win any baking awards but it’ll give you some nice fresh bread for your toast in the morning. Weigh out the flour and add the yeast. Pour in the water and using a wooden spoon bring together to form a dough. Knead the dough for about 5 minutes and then in a greased bowl, cover and prove for around an hour.
Once the bread has doubled in size, knock out the air and knead again. Once kneaded, prove for another half an hour and heat your oven to 180c. Take out the proved dough and knead again for a minute to form into a ball. Either bake the dough in a loaf tin, small round tin or just on baking sheet for about 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
