Jackfruit, it’s a weird thing and is super popular at the moment. So the other week I got my hands on some and found out what all the fuss is about.
- 1 Tin Drained Jack fruit
- Paprika
- 200ml BBQ Sauce
This is another slow cooker job and is super easy. Drain and pat the jackfruit dry. Add the fruit to your slow cooker and season with salt, pepper and a pinch of paprika. Cover the fruit in the bbq sauce and leave for 8 hours on low to slow cook. Once done, pull the cooked fruit apart with two forks and serve in a bun.

P.s. It’s no BBQ Pulled Pork, but it’s not bad
Oh didn’t know it’s popular? We Asians eat it as a fruit. You can make smoothies. Eat it as is. Make salads with the young jackfruit fibres. And boil the seeds to eat as a snack thus everything in the fruit is eaten.
The can ones are not bad but nowhere as good as the fresh variety.
