I was given the recipe for this by my friend Tom. However, I couldn’t find any lamb mince so this is beef and I have changed a few of the spices because of what I had in my cupboard but it’s essentially the same idea.
- 1 Pita
- 100g Lean Steak Mince
- ½ tsp Paprika
- ½ tsp Harissa Spices
- ½ tsp Cumin
- ½ Garlic Powder
- Salt and Pepper
- Handful Salad Leaves
- 20ml Chilli Sauce
- 20ml Mayonnaise
- 80g Pickled Mild Chillies
- 60g Cornichon
- 50g Pickled Red Cabbage
Heat the oven to 180c and then mix the beef mince and spices together using a wooden spoon. Smooth the beef into a thin layer in a loaf tin, around about ½ cm thick. Bake the beef in the oven for 20 minutes.
Leave the beef too cool. Once cooled, cut into strips. At this point fill the pita with the pickles and salad. Next, lightly fry the beef strips in a little oil on either side till crispy and then add to the pita. Finally, top the pita with the mayo and chilli sauce.
