Getting fancy with some sirloin, cooking something new in the world of steaks is like trying to re-invent the wheel.
- 1 Sirloin Steak
- ½ Turnip
- ½ Carrot
- 2 Small Potatoes
- Large Knob butter
- Rocket Leaves
Start off by peeling and then chopping the veg into little cubes. Heat your oven to 220c and while that warms up put the veg in a bag with the oil. Season well, close the bag and give it a good shake around.
Put the veg on a baking sheet and roast until the cubes are all crispy (about 20-30mins). While they cook, trim the steak of all its end bits, keep these though you’ll need them.
Cut the trimmed steak in half and in a griddle pan cook to your liking. In a separate pan cook the trimmings and once cooked, add the butter. This is going to be your sauce.
Once the veg and steak are done, arrange the steak in the middle of the plate surrounded by the roasted veg cubes. Drizzle the butter over the veg and then top with some rocket leaves to look fancy.
