There is nothing quite as satisfying as a good burger. When the thought crosses your mind ‘Ooo I could have Burgers this evening.’ That really is it, it has to be Burgers and they’re dead easy to make and cheap too, with half a kilo of mince sitting around £4 that’s like a pound a burger, if you make quarter pounder(ish) burgers.
- 250g Beef Mince
- 1 Red Onion
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- Large Hadnful Rocket
- 2 Rashers Back Bacon
- 2 Large Gherkins
- 2 Slices Burger Cheese
- 2 Soft White Rolls (or Brioche if you fancy)
Finely chop the onion and then put it in a bowl with the beef mince. Season liberally and add the garlic powder. Now, get your hands in there and squidge it all about until it is all really well mixed. Cut the mixture into two and using your hands make it into patties.
In a flat bottom pan cook on either side for about 2 minutes, then transfer to a warm place to rest. In the same pan fry the bacon.
While that cooks cut the rolls in half and put some rocket in each one. Next, thinly slice the gherkin and stick that on top of the burgers followed by the back bacon. Finally add the cheese to the burgers and then put the burgers in the rolls and enjoy. Burgers for dinner done.
