Slow cookers are amazing, chuck everything in and forget about it, and when it’s a belly of in BBQ sauce… What’s not to like?
For the Pork
- 500g Belly of Pork (De-boned and cut in half)
- 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
- 1 tsp Powdered Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper Powder
- Salt and Pepper
- 1/2 tsp Sugar
For the Sauce
- 50ml Ketchup
- 50ml HP Sauce
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 drops Tabasco
This is going to take a little bit of work but trust me it’s worth it in the end. Mix all of the different spices and powders together and then put in to a large freezer bag, add the pork and give it a good shake. I left mine in the fridge overnight but 20 minutes would do it.
Once the pork has marinaded a bit in the dry rub, mix the sauce ingredients together and put them into your slow cooker. If you’ve not got one don’t worry you’ll get the same result in the oven. Put the pork on top of the sauce mixture.
Turn the slow cooker to high and leave it all day, I gave mine about 10 hours. For the oven give it a blast on 220c for about an hour then turn down to about 80c and again leave it all day.
once it’s done you’ll have some super fall apart pork belly to enjoy.
