Scones, who doesn’t love a scone? To be honest this entire recipe was guess work. I had a group of students all keen to make some ‘Traditional British’ food and no scales to measure things. So a cup recipe it was, we used:
- 2 cups SR flour
- 2 slices of butter (about 50g? I think…)
- Splash of whole milk
- 1/3 of a cup caster sugar
We started by making a breadcrumb texture by rubbing in the butter to the flour, once there we added the sugar, gave it a mix and then gradually added the milk until we all got balls of dough ready to be shaped. We shaped our scones by hand but if you want to you can use a cutter to make pretty ones, we went for rustic. Once all shaped, stick the scones on a baking tray and bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 200c.
