Buffalo Cauliflower? No really!!

Buffalo Cauliflower

Cauliflower… I’ve never really been a fan to be honest. I prefer its green cousin broccoli when it comes to a veg off between them.  But recently I’ve begun experimenting with it.  I’ve known for a while that you can make ‘Couscous’ and ‘Rice’ from it by chucking it in a Blender. I found out too that it makes rather good mash to go with any gravy based foods, but the revelation came from finding a recipe for Buffalo Cauliflower on the whole foods website.

I have given it a try obviously changing bits here and there, I’m not sure mine is as healthy as theirs as I used Franks wing sauce as well as all the spices! Ever since I first went to the states and tried Buffalo style wings for the first time I’ve been hooked and came back with a suitcase clinking with bottles of buffalo sauce and A1 Steak sauce (which is also pretty awesome!)

  • 1 head of Cauliflower (cut into florets)
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 3 tbsp Rapeseed oil
  • 3 tbsp Franks Red Hot Wing Sauce

This one is very easy indeed, in a bowl put all of dry ingredients along with the oil and give it a good mix until the Cauliflower is nice coated. Now, you can either leave it to marinade or can get stuck straight in, either works.

Heat your oven to 200c; put the coated cauliflower on a baking tray and roast it for about 20 minutes or until its nicely golden.  Once that’s done, remove it from the oven and back into the bowl you used to coat the cauliflower, add the wing sauce, give it a good shake and then serve!
